EVIDENCE ACT (2011)

An Act to repeal the Evidence Act, Cap. E14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, and enact a new Evidence Act which applies to all judicial proceedings in or before Courts in Nigeria; and for related matters. The Act consolidates and modernises the law of evidence, addressing the admissibility of evidence, burden of proof, presumptions, witness competence, documentary evidence, hearsay exceptions, computer-generated evidence, and other evidentiary matters applicable to judicial proceedings in Nigeria.
