The Act establishes a University of Technology with the object of encouraging the advancement of learning and providing opportunities for higher education in technology, developing academic and professional programmes in engineering, scientific, agricultural, medical and allied professional disciplines, and acting as an agent and catalyst for the effective and economic utilisation, exploitation and conservation of Nigeria’s natural, economic and human resources.
