Order 49 — Change of Legal Practitioner
Rule 1 Legal Practitioner to conduct cause or matter to final judgment
Every Legal Practitioner, who shall be engaged in any cause or matter, shall be bound to conduct same on behalf of the Plaintiff or Defendant as the case may be, by or for whom the Legal Practitioner shall have been so engaged, until final judgment, unless allowed for any special reason to cease acting therein.
Rule 2 Application for change of Legal Practitioner or withdrawal
An application for a change or withdrawal of a Legal Practitioner may be made by the Plaintiff or Defendant or the Legal Practitioner, as the case may be, not less than 7 clear days before the date fixed for hearing.
Rule 3 Service of application by Legal Practitioner
The application shall be served on all parties to the cause or matter and, where applicable, also on the out-going Legal Practitioner, if the out-going Legal Practitioner is not the Applicant.
