Section 38 — False information

Whoever willfully, maliciously, or with reckless disregard for the safety of human life, imparts, provides or causes to be provided, false information, knowing the information to be false, concerning an attempt or alleged attempt being made or to be made, to do any act that is prohibited by section 37 of this Act, commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine of at least ₦200,000 or imprisonment for a term not more than six months or both.
